1
Wear a petticoat or belt to hold the sari. The petticoat has a draw string that can be tied tightly around your waist. The fabric is then tucked into the string or belt. Start at your front and work your way around your hips to your left. Keep an eye on the length of the sari. Since it is adjustable, tuck it in to make it as long as you like.

2
Make seven pleats with the rest of the fabric, about the width of your hand. Again, the sari is adjustable, so if you are a larger person, make five pleats; if smaller, make nine pleats. This also depends on how much material you want left to throw over your shoulder. Tuck the pleats into the front of the petticoat.

3
Make sure the rest of the fabric is facing out of the pleats and to the left again. This time, wrap the fabric behind you and around to your front. Bring the remaining material up and over your chest and shoulder. This piece should flow freely down you back.

Tips & Warnings
The remaining fabric that falls down your back can be used as a veil, as a rain covering for you head, to wrap groceries or even to hold a child.
If your aren't used to wearing a sari, it can slip out of the petticoat pretty easily.
