Learn how to make this smooth and creamy authentic guacamole dip for your next party or get together. This guacamole dip recipe goes great with any style of Mexican food or just have it with tortilla chips.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 6 medium avocados
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 Roma tomato, finely diced
  • Food Processor
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Sharp Chopping Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Metal Spoon and Fork
  1. Step 1

To begin making this authentic guacamole dip, slice each of your six avocados lengthwise and remove the seed. Using a metal spoon, scoop out the insides of each avocado and place in a large mixing bowl. Mash the avocado pulp with a fork until almost smooth.

  2. Step 2

Next, stir in your salsa, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, and lime juice. Once these ingredients are combined, use your food processor or blender to process them until they are smooth and creamy.

  3. Step 3

Return the smooth dip from the food processor to the mixing bowl. Then, gradually stir in your finely diced Roma tomato. This guacamole dip should be stored in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve it.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can adjust the "heat" of this guacamole dip by using either mild, medium, or hot salsa.
  • If you like your dip really hot, add half of a finely diced jalapeno pepper when you stir in the Roma tomato.
  • This dip tends to get even better if you make it a day ahead of time and keep in chilled in the refrigerator. This seems to give the flavors time to blend.
  • Only use an airtight container to store your guacamole, since continued exposure to the air tends to make the avocados in the dip turn brown.
