How to Care for Your New Amazon Kindle
After investing good money in an Amazon Kindle, the last thing you want is for this e-book reader to get damaged, broken or stolen. It also helps to read the instructions carefully before you use the Kindle. Understand what the buttons do, how to access various features, where the battery is and how to change it. Some of those instructions play a direct role in the long term care of the Kindle.

1
Recharge the battery every other day if you frequently use the wireless function. The Kindle has a long battery life, but this will keep the battery at its peak for a longer time. Recharge it once a week if you are generally offline.
-
2
Avoid touching the screen if you can. Use a cotton wash cloth to gently clean dust off the screen. If the Kindle has a food or liquid stain, carefully wipe it off with a lightly dampened towel. Never use chemicals on a Kindle.

3
Always store the Kindle in the book cover provided. When you travel or commute, place the covered Kindle in a sturdier bag, pouch, or cover. It will provide extra cushion in case the Kindle is bounced around.

If the device is stolen, call Amazon support immediately so they can block account activity.
