Step 1
Open your refrigerator and look at where your food is located. If you are like most people, sugary drinks, butter, cheese, and fatty dressings and condiments are out in the open and located at eye level.
-
Step 2
Look for your fruits and vegetables. Many people store their fruits and vegetables in drawers located at the bottom of their refrigerator. Fruits and vegetables are not usually visible when you open the refrigerator. You need to move these healthy items out into the open. You may worry that your fruits and vegetables will go bad more quickly if they are not in the drawers, but by moving them out into the open, you will eat them more quickly, and therefore not have that problem.
-
Step 3
It is time to do some rearranging of the food in your refrigerator. Your goal is to have the healthy foods visible when you open your refrigerator, and have the fatty and sugary foods hidden in the drawers. If you keep healthy foods visible, and at eye level, you are more likely to choose these foods for snacks and meals.
-
Step 4
Take all your fruits and vegetables out of the drawers. Place your cheese, butter, peanut butter, and any other fatty or sugary foods into the drawers. Place the fruits and vegetables on the shelves where they are very visible and located at eye level.
-
Step 5
Rearranging the food in your refrigerator will help you lose weight naturally because you will see the healthy foods you have available, and create new, healthy eating habits. Eating healthier should help you to lose weight naturally, and improve your overall health.

on 7/17/2009 I never thought of that - and you're right, the vegetables are tucked away in a little drawer while all the butter and such is right at eye level. Very interesting, thanks!
