How to make scented oils for burning

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wicks
  • Essential oils
  • Containers with lids
  • Carrier Oils
  1. Step 1

To make the Carrier Oil Base combine

    2 oz. sweet almond oil
    2 oz. carrot oil

into an amber glass dropper bottle.

  2. Step 2

    To make the Scent

Using an eye dropper add to the carrier oil base in 6-3-2 drop ratios, three essential oil combinations.

For example, 6 drops of lavender, 3 drops of rosewater and 2 drops of tangerine.

There are any number of personalized scents you can come up with. Experiment until your nose is satisfied.

Experts suggest a top, middle and low level scent.

I suggest letting your nose be the guide.

    These are my favorite:

To motivate: Myrrh, Frankincense, and Sunflower
To get money: Clove, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Myrrh
To enhance sexual desire: Lavender, Rosemary, Ylang Ylang
    To induce happiness: Citrus, Rosewater

Before adding scent to the carrier oil, test your creative combinations on slivers of paper.

  3. Step 3

Close the bottle. Turn upside down several times to mix.
    Do not shake.

In a cool dark place oils should stay fresh for approximately one year.

These same oils can also be added to sea salt to make rubs and bath salts.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use amber glass bottles. Keep bottles out of sunlight.
