1
Search for a local marina in the city you are visiting. You can use a a marina finder like Marine Life (see Resources) or ask other boat owners who have visited that city. If you have friends in your destination location, ask them to scope out the local marinas for you.

2
Compare the amenities of the marinas you have found. If you are planning to spend the night on your boat, be sure to choose a marina that includes bathroom facilities, preferably with a shower. You can also rent a spot for mooring offshore but this means you need a dinghy if you plan to go ashore.

Compare the pricing of each marina. Marinas charge a per-foot fee for boats. Marinas with limited resources, which are basically just a place to dock your boat with no bathrooms or dining facilities, will be much cheaper than those that offer more options. The price will also vary based on the city you are in.
