How to Print Pictures and Patterns On Sculpey

The Polyform Products Company produces oven-bake clays for intermediate or advanced level crafters. The company provides general technique how-to and tutorial articles on its Sculpey.com website. Each article contains detailed step-by-step instructions that also include pictures and patterns. Printing these articles isn't a complicated process. You only need to have a working printer and know the location of the printing option in your Internet browser or PDF viewer.

Instructions

    • 1

Check that the printer is loaded with paper and plugged into your computer. Turn your computer and printer on.

    • 2

Go to the Sculpey.com project or how-to page that you want to print. If you want to print a tutorial, click the "Tutorial PDFs" option on the left sidebar. Click the tutorial title, or the PDF link to the right of the title and PDF icon, to open the tutorial in a PDF viewer.

    • 3

Locate your Internet browser or PDF viewer's print option. For example, click "File" on the Menu bar and "Print" on the drop-down menu if you're using Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. Click the wrench and select "Print..." from the drop-down menu if you are using Google Chrome. If you have a PDF viewer open, click the printer icon.

    • 4

Confirm that the printer is selected in the window that opens. If it isn't, select it.

    • 5

Click the "Print" button to print out the pictures and patterns you need.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you only need a picture from Sculpey, right click the picture and select the print option from the menu if available. If you only see a copy option on the menu, click it, paste it on a blank page in a word processing document and then print it out.

  • If you want to print in black and white instead of color, look for a "Preferences" button or tab in the print window in Step 4. Click the button, look for a print quality or image option and then select the black and white option.

  • Some pictures and patterns on Sculpey don't have a right click menu option. In these cases, use the print screen feature on your computer and paste the copied screen onto a blank page in a word processing or graphic design program. Select the "Crop" feature in the program, crop the image until you see only the picture or pattern that you want, and then print it as you would if you had copied only the picture on Sculpey.com.
