Painting a room or a house brings out great possibilities and makes it feel new! The thought you have to think about is what color to choose. With hundreds to choose from, where do you start? With this article, I hope to help you narrow some colors down.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • paint samples
  • ideas of what you like
  1. Step 1

First you want to step back and think about the overall design you want to portray for whichever room you are painting. An example would be the laundry room. For me, I wanted something with color and to make it an enjoyable room to be in. Doing laundry is not much fun as it is!!

  2. Step 2

Once you decide the design and feel you want the room to have, think about the furniture that will be going into the room. Though you may buy new furniture down the road, you can always change the paint color later! Coordinating colors will help with your overall theme.

  3. Step 3

Now that you have that in mind, you want to see what options are available. Home Depot, Lowes, or a paint store will have hundreds of samples for you to look at. If you are thinking of painting with 2 colors, they also have samples with coordinating colors. Go into the store with time to look around and really pick what you like best. Once you have picked with one you want, take the sample home and compare with the furniture or things going into the room. Now you are ready to buy your paint supplies and get painting!
