Step 1
Enter ticker symbol or company nameNavigate to http://finance.yahoo.com and enter the ticker symbol for the stock whose historical prices you want to retrieve into the text box beside the "Get Quotes" button near the top left corner of the page. If you do not know the ticker symbol just begin typing the name of the company into the text box. Select the company from the dropdown list that appears or press "Get Quotes."

SelectSelect the "Historical Prices" link from the "More On..." box to the left of the current quote.

Step 3
Change search parametersYahoo! Finance will return a set of daily historic prices for the stock you selected. You can change the parameters for the search in the "Set Date Range" box. Here you can change the start and end dates for the search as well as the frequency of prices to return (i.e., daily, weekly, monthly).

Step 4
Download the dataOnce you have the data you want scroll to the bottom of the list of prices and select the "Download To Spreadsheet" link. You can choose to save the data to your hard drive or open it directly into your spreadsheet software.
