Although listening to your iPod Shuffle for several hours on end can be fun, the time will eventually come when you will have to recharge your iPod Shuffle. Charging your iPod shuffle is a fairly simple process and uses equipment that was bundled with your Shuffle. You can also purchase other charging equipment for your iPod Shuffle.

    Recharging an iPod Shuffle

  1. Step 1

Find your computer's USB port. Most modern desktops have USB ports on the front of the computer's tower, but you may want to check your owner's manual if you are unsure.

  2. Step 2

Put the long, skinny end of the cord into the bottom of your iPod Shuffle. After applying some pressure, the cord should fit snugly. Then connect the more stout side of the cord into your computer's USB port.

  3. Step 3

Wait for iTunes to launch. You will be able to see your device in the program, and it should have a "Charging" symbol next to it. If you do not see this symbol, unplug it and then try again. If you are still having trouble, you may want to begin troubleshooting.

  4. Step 4

Find an alternate charger. If plugging your iPod Shuffle into your computer is too inconvenient, you can always purchase an official iPod Shuffle wall charger. Note: It is very important to purchase an official iPod Shuffle wall charger, as chargers designed for other iPod models will not work with the iPod Shuffle.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have lost or misplaced your iPod-specific USB cord, you can purchase a replacement from your local Apple store. Most electronics shops do not keep these specialty cords in stock.
