How to Make a Free Personalized Calendar
A personalized calendar is a great way to share special family photographs with grandparents and other family members. You can add important dates such as birthdays or events to the calendar. There are now a variety of websites that allow you to use their online software to easily upload your digital images and make a personalized calendar for free. You can either print your calendar on your computer or purchase a printed version from the website. If you print your own calendar, you may need to have it spiral-bound to attach the photograph side to the monthly calendar. This can be done at most office supply stores.

1
Gather the images you would like to use for your calendar and put them in digital format. If you plan to create a calendar with an image for all 12 months, choose appropriate images for each month and a special photograph for the cover. Convert your images to .jpeg digital format and download them your computer. An image that's too small will be poor quality, but you should try to keep each image under 6.0 MB.

2
Collect the important dates you would like to add to the calendar. It might be birthdays, anniversaries or special family events.

Go online to a website that allows you to create a calendar for free. One such website is My Calendar Maker (link in Resources). For this demonstration, I'll take you through the steps of creating an online calendar with this website. Other websites that offer this service will typically have a similar format.

4
Create your free account with the website. At My Calendar Maker, their link to do this simply states "Create your free account". Follow their menu wizard and include your name and email, and you will need to create a password. Remember to write down your password.
-
5
After you sign up, you will be directed to the menu to create your calendar. At the My Calendar Maker website, the first decision you will make is what type of calendar to create: full, half-size or tear-off.
-
6
Follow the wizard. A menu wizard will guide you through the process. This is similar to filling out a form. Choose the date range of the calendar by month and by year. You will choose a starting month and ending month.
-
7
Upload your images to the website. With My Calendar Maker, you will complete one month at a time before you advance to the next menu. For example, you will upload your digital image for January, add an image caption, and then you will personalize the calendar. You will see an actual calendar on the screen, and you will put your cursor on the different days and type in your information. When you are finished with that month, you will move onto the next month.
-
8
Finish your calendar by uploading your cover image. You will do this on the wizard's final menu. You also have the option of adding a cover title and calendar dedication.
-
9
Print your menu. You can click the option to print your menu. The file will open as a .pdf file that can be printed from your computer.
