How to Remove An Internet Explorer Skin

Software skins change the look and "feel" of an application without changing the way in which it works. Much like the color on a car or the design of a table, skins are a way to customize your experience without changing anything fundamental. Internet Explorer is one of many applications that allows you to change their "skin."

Instructions

    • 1

Uninstall any toolbars or Internet Explorer add-ons that were installed to provide the ability to use skins. Open Internet Explorer and select the "Tools" menu.

    • 2

Select "Internet Options" and click on the "Programs" tab.

    • 3

Click on "Manage Add-Ons" and disable or delete the theme or skin manger add-on.

    • 4

Navigate to "Settings>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs" to totally uninstall any theme or skin add-ons.

    • 5

Select the program and click "Remove" to uninstall.
