Making ringtones for you and your friends is incredibly simple when using the Myxer website. When you create ringtones with Myxer, you don't have to download any software, and it's free. You don't even need to create an account on Myxer to make and send ringtones to your phone. This means you'll never have to worry about receiving spam or other emails from the website.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to the "Upload Song on Myxer" link in the Resources section below. This will take you to the Myxer page where you can begin making your ringtone.

  2. Step 2

Click "Browse," which lets you search through any songs you have on your hard drive. Select a song and click "OK." You should see the file listed to the left of the Browse tab.

  3. Step 3

Click "Customize." A box will appear on the screen alerting you that the file you selected is being uploaded to the Myxer server. After the file has been uploaded, you will be redirected to a new page.

  4. Step 4

Look for the rectangular box that is located in the Select a Section portion of the page. Move that box to change the starting point for your ringtone. After you have done this, enter a numerical value in the "Length" box. Your ringtone should be between 20 and 30 seconds in length.

  5. Step 5

Click the "Volume" box in the middle of the Web page. Once you do, you can choose to make the ringtone either louder or quieter than the default setting. The setting you choose will be dependent on the speaker(s) on your cell phone.

  6. Step 6

Type your cell phone number in the "Get It Now" box. This box is at the very bottom of the page. After you have entered the number, click "Send to Phone." Your cell phone will receive a text message from Myxer within a half hour of sending the file.

  7. Step 7

Open the message from Myxer on your cell phone. Users who receive the ringtones directly on their phones can save the files onto their phones. Some customers will receive a link instead of a file in the text message. If you get a link, open that link in the browser that is on your cell phone. This link will take you to the ringtone you made. Once you get to that page, click the "Download" link. Your cell phone will download the ringtone you made on Myxer.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use the link in Resources to learn how to open the Web browser on your cell phone. This method will vary based on the cell phone you own.
  • Your cell phone must be able to receive text messages and possibly browse the Internet to receive ringtones. You do not need to purchase a text messaging or "data plan," however. Consult your cell phone provider, however, to learn about any fees you may incur when using Myxer.
