Instructions

    • 1

Find your BlackBerry Pearl's expansion port. The regular "brick" style of the phone has the expansion port located on the left side, near the monitor. The newer flip model has the expansion port on the right side of the phone, next to the volume buttons.

    • 2

Put a blank MicroSD card in the BlackBerry Pearl's expansion port. Gently push the card into the port, logo side up, until you feel it "click" into place.

    • 3

Let the formatting process begin. A status bar will pop up, once the memory card has been inserted, and you will not be able to use your phone during this time to pop up. Any pre-existing content on the memory card will be erased. Once the status bar fills up, your memory card will be formatted, and you will be able use it in both your personal computer and your phone.

    • 4

Eject your MicroSD card by pressing on it gently to release it from its spring-loaded slot. When you insert it again, it will already be formatted and you can use it immediately.

Tips & Warnings

  • Once your BlackBerry Pearl's memory card has been formatted, it is very important not to modify its new file structure, as this will corrupt links to files, directories, and applications that are stored on the device and could even trigger a re-format, which will erase all your files.
