How to Become a CPA Corporate Financial Analyst
CPA corporate financial analysts oversee and manage money including forecasting profits and accruing for anticipated expenditures. Generally a bachelor's degree is required to fill the job. In addition, financial analysts can become certified. For instance, the American Academy of Financial Management (AAFM) offers financial analyst certifications and designations at the bachelor's, master's and doctorate degree levels. Being a certified financial analyst can increase your chances of landing a job with a major corporation.

Register at a two-year college or university. If you want to increase your chances of landing a more senior role at a corporation, complete a four-year academic degree. Enroll in courses with a focus on finance, wealth management, accounting, investment banking, mutual funds and project management. Additional areas of study to focus on to prepare you for a job in the corporate world include mergers and acquisitions, real estate, trusts and business administration.

Become Certified. Decide on the state where you want to be licensed to work as a CPA. Download a copy of the Uniform CPA Candidate Bulletin from the CPA Exam official website. Sign up to take the exam, keeping in mind that different states have different application agents. Complete the application paperwork and submit the necessary application fees. Schedule then successfully pass the exam.

Intern at a Corporation. Contact two to three corporations you would like to work at while you are in college. Meet with the company recruiter and inquire about the steps involved in working at the company as an intern. If possible, intern at a minimum of two different companies to broaden your experience, build networks and strengthen your portfolio.

Contact Employers. Search job boards and your local newspaper classified ads section. Craft an effective resume being sure to highlight your accounting licenses, internships, certifications and other financial working experience you have obtained. Reach out to recruiters at the firms you are interested in being employed with.

Follow Up. Email or telephone recruiters after you submit your resume. Follow up and inquire about setting up an interview. Build a database of companies you have applied to and continue to follow up until you land the CPA corporate financial analyst job you are looking for.
