Instructions

  1. Directions

    • 1

Fill a large bowl with warm water and a few drops of moisturizing soap for your feet to soak for at least five minutes. This will soften the skin on your feet and make it easier to push back the cuticles and remove thick, hard calluses.

    • 2

Use a soft towel to dry your feet thoroughly and remove any remaining nail polish on your toenails.

    • 3

Separate your toes with cotton balls and use a cuticle pusher or clipper to push back your toenails' cuticles or cut them off. If you choose to cut them, avoid cutting too far into the nail bed. Small cuts on your toes can become infected.

    • 4

Examine your feet for calluses. These are areas where the skin has built up a few layers to protect your foot from rubbing against your shoes. You will most likely find calluses on your heel, ball and sides of your foot. Use a callus remover to shave off the excess skin.

    • 5

File your toenails so they are smooth and short. If they are longer to begin with, you might have to cut them with a toenail clipper first.

    • 6

Apply a colored or clear nail polish to protect your nails and keep them strong. If you use a darker color polish, apply a thin coat of clear first to protect your nail from becoming discolored.

Tips & Warnings

  • Nail designs and rhinestones can easily be glued on to make your pedicure more glamorous. Just apply a coat of clear polish to protect the decal.

  • Callus removers are sharp and can cut into your skin if you press too hard.
