Decide you want to make a drag racing shirt and the details included in the design. Make a sketch of the finished product with descriptions of what the shirt will say and where it is positioned. Draw two sketches, one that represents the front and one that represents the back. Even if you will only be customizing one side of the shirt, it is good to designate which side you are working on when the information is relayed to the shirt makers at Café Press.

Upload any images that you will be using onto the computer that you will be using to connect with the shirt maker. It is recommended that you save the image in a file folder on your desktop for easy retrieval. Create a file, name it appropriately and save it for later. Once you have finished creating the shirt, you can remove this file from your computer to save space.

Connect with the Café Press (see Resources) website and click on the link at the top of the page that says "CREATE CUSTOM T-SHIRTS & MORE." The next page you will be sent to is the selection area. This is where you will make the drag-racing shirt to your specifications. Here, the website gives you a selection of products to choose from. Select a shirt here. Click on the "T-Shirts and Clothing" link to customize your own drag-racing shirt.

Choose the color and the size of the shirt you will be showing off your drag-racing support in. Pick from a large selection of plain T's to high-end sports polos that really catch the eye when adorned with a classic drag-racing image or symbol. The right color and fit are important when working with images. A dark shirt can make it hard to see a small picture, and a white shirt may seem plain as the background to a colorful image. Choose the right combination of fit, feel and color that will enhance the drag-racing features you include in the design.

Next, find and upload the image you saved earlier. The perfect drag-racing picture you have chosen needs to be sized correctly and placed on the proper side. Look at the sketch you drew of the design and select the front or back of the shirt to work on. Use the Browse button to find the picture located on your computer's desktop. Click on the image to open it, so that it is sent into the website at Café Press. The image will then be laid over an image of the shirt you are creating for approval. If everything's OK, complete the creation process and pay for your custom drag-racing shirt at the website's checkout page. Insert billing and shipping information into the online payment form and wait for approval. Once you're approved, your shirt will be delivered within five business days.

Resize any large images you want to put on a Café Press custom shirt, so that image is not distorted due to resizing done by Café Press.
Wait, YOUR RECEIPT! Always keep a copy of the confirmation sent to you from an online dealer. You should always come away from an online purchase with a printable or electronic receipt that can be printed out at a later time. Send it to yourself in an email to keep it available in the future.
