Taking a computer screen shot can be a useful tool for saving graphics, sharing photos or keeping Internet pages on file. The process is simple, and can be performed in seconds with just a few simple steps.

Things You'll Need:

  • Photo-editing software
  1. Step 1

    Open the page or photo you want to save.

  2. Step 2

    Press the PrtSc key. (It is typically located at the top right of the keyboard, above the backspace key.)

  3. Step 3

    Open a photo-editing program like Paint or Photoshop.

  4. Step 4

    Press Control + V on your keyboard, or click "Paste" under the "Edit" toolbar.

  5. Step 5

    Save your image. You can also edit the image before saving if you want to only save a particular item or section of the page.
