How to Make Wedding Gazebo Bows
Having an outdoor wedding allows you to use nature as your number one decoration. One thing, however, that may help set the mood is to decorate your wedding gazebo with soft, romantic bows. This will draw attention to the main stage and create a special environment for your wedding ceremony.

1
Choose satin ribbon that compliments the color scheme of the rest of your event. Consider your bridesmaid dresses, the color of your flowers, and any other color accents that may be inside of the gazebo. You don't want the bows to clash with your wedding party.
-
2
Decide whether you want real or artificial ivy. Artificial ivy will last longer, but real ivy will look more natural. There are pros and cons to each, so be sure to choose whichever will work best for you.

3
Wrap the ivy around all of the rails and uprights of the gazebo. You are creating a surface that will give you something more pliable to adhere your gazebo bows to as well as make the colors stand out against the greenery.
-
4
Use floral wire to safely fasten the ivy to the gazebo to avoid anything blowing away during your ceremony. Since the floral wire will blend with the ivy, don't be afraid to use as much as you need to assure that the ivy will stay in place.

5
Cut several strips of satin ribbon, all the same size. Cut them long enough to fold them in half. You may have to experiment with the length depending on how large you want your wedding gazebo bows to be. These will be the "tails" of your bows. Fold each strip in half and cut each end of the ribbon at an angle. Set aside.
-
6
Cut another set of several strips of satin ribbon. Again, all the strips should be the same length. Tie each strip of ribbon into large bows.
-
7
Place the tied piece of ribbon on top of the base ribbon and fasten together with floral wire. Use enough floral wire that you will have plenty left in the back to fasten to your gazebo. Use the knot in the middle of your tied bow to hide the floral wire. If need be you can always cut another piece of satin ribbon to wrap around the knot in the center, in order to cover up any floral wire that may be showing.
-
8
Adhere the wedding bows to the ivy on the gazebo using the excess floral wire from connecting the two parts of your bow. Place each bow the same distance away from the next. If the back of your gazebo will not be seen, you can reserve all of the bows for the front of the structure.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure that it is cost and time effective for you to make your own gazebo bows. Research pre-made decorations before assuming that it will be less expensive to make them yourself.
