Creating and giving valentines to your friends on Valentine's Day can be fun, especially if the special box was created by you. Here are a few steps on how to make a Valentine card box.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Shoe box Wrapping paper (red or pink) Tape Construction paper Glitter Glue Markers Scissors
  1. Step 1

Wrap your shoe box and lid with wrapping paper. You want the sides of the box to be covered with the wrapping paper or construction paper. Choose red, pink or lavender colors for the paper you cover your box in. Tape the paper to the bottom of the box and the inside of the box. Wrap the lid in wrapping paper or construction paper also.

  2. Step 2

Make a hole in the lid of the box. You want to cut a hole in the shape of a rectangle in the lid of your box. Be sure the hole is big enough to fit valentines in without bending or folding them. You can use scissors or a sharp knife to cut the hole. Get an adult's help if you're younger than 10.

  3. Step 3

Decorate the box. Decorate the paper with squiggly lines or circles using the glue. Next, sprinkle glitter over the glue patterns. You want to sprinkle the glitter on the glue before it dries. You may also decorate the box using markers or cutting shapes out of the construction paper. Consider using heart-shaped doilies and gluing them to your box or decorating it with Valentine's Day themed stickers.

  4. Step 4

Personalize the Valentine card box. Write your name on the box. You may want to write "Ann's Valentine's Card Box" or write your name and "Happy Valentine's Day."

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't have a shoe box, consider using a baby wipes container and wrapping it in wrapping paper. It already has a hole in it and a lid that won't fall off or get lost.
  • Be sure to let glue dry before handling it or moving it around to collect valentines. It's ideal to let it sit overnight so it will be ready to use to collect valentines the next day.
