1
Draw out your design sketches and color with colored pencils or markers. Make sure the sketches are clear and show off your clothing ideas the best way possible. Draw several sketches, enough so that you can have a fashion show or showing for a partial if not complete line.

2
Purchase fabric and necessary supplies to construct the clothes. If you are not a seamstress yourself then you will need to hire someone to sew the clothes for you and make sure to supervise them to ensure they turn out the way you have designed them. Then you need to come up with a name for your label and think about what will make you stand out compared to the other thousands of designers and labels out on the market.

Once the clothes are done, have a casting call and hire models. These can even be friends or family members if they can pull off making the clothes look fabulous and will appeal to your target demographic. Have the garments fitted to the models. Hire a photographer and set up a photo shoot.

Seek investors if you don't have the funding to start production and open your own store or online business. Send your fliers, postcards and other materials to potential clients. Market yourself online in social forums and Google searches, and offer coupons or specials to entice people to your website.
