How to Make a Paper Chair

If you are furnishing a dollhouse, making furniture out of paper is a fun and economical option for accomplishing this. When you make your own small furniture out of paper, you can create many different styles and looks with inexpensive supplies. Making small pieces of furniture can be an entertaining hobby even if you are not furnishing a dollhouse.

Things You'll Need

• 2 6-by-6 inch squares of colored card stock paper
• Art supplies (markers, crayons, gel pens)
• Scissors
• Clear tape

Instructions

1. Fold the squares of paper in half and crease the folds well. Unfold the papers and lay them flat again.

2. Draw patterns or pictures on the papers with your art materials. A small pattern covering the entire piece of paper works best.

3. Refold the paper squares along the fold lines so that the patterns you drew in Step 2 are on the outside of the folded papers.

4. 

   Fold one paper in half from top to bottom. Fold it again halfway between the last fold made and the bottom edge of the paper (see image).

5. 

   Cut the second square of paper in half and then fold it in half to use for the back legs of the chair.

6. 

   Tape the paper for the back legs to the underside of the chair.

7. 

   Cut shapes out of the paper chair to add flair and interest. You could also cut out the legs if desired.

8. Add more tape to make the chair secure, if necessary, to finish the paper chair.
