How to Work a Sandisk Sansa C140 MP3 Player

Install a new AAA alkaline battery in the Sansa C140 by removing the battery compartment on the back of the player.

Press and hold the power/menu button to power on the Sansa C140.

Connect the USB cable from the Sansa C140 MP3 Player to a free USB port on your computer. The operating system should automatically detect the player and display it as "Sansa C140" under My Computer.

Drag and drop digital music files (MP3s) from your computer to Sansa c140 by using the music software program of your choice to transfer/synchronize your files. A popular software application for this is WIndows Media Player. You can also open the Sansa C140 drive under My Computer and simply drag and drop files to the Sansa C140.

Disconnect the Sansa C140 using the "Safely Remove Hardware" feature in the system tray (right hand side of desktop taskbar).

Play music by navigating to Menu > Music and pressing the "Select" button on the track you want to play. Press the Right Button to skip to the next track and the Left button to go back a track. Press and hold the power button to turn off the Sansa C140 MP3 Player.

You can use the Sansa Media Converter that came on the CD with the Sansa C140 to transfer files including photos to the player.
