When using DVD Shrink alongside Nero burning software, you can create a perfect copy of any of your home video DVDs. This is a great way to make multiple copies and give them away as gifts. Since DVD Shrink preserves everything from the original DVD, you won't lose any of the menus, language tracks, or subtitles that makes the movie so unique. DVD Shrink software is free, giving you a cost-effective solution to your home video problems.

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer Blank DVD DVD Burner DVD Shrink Software Nero Burning Software
  1. Step 1

    Place the DVD disc you wish to copy into your DVD burner drive.

  2. Step 2
     

    Start the DVD Shrink software. Once available, click "Open Disc" then press "OK." The software will start analyzing the disc, which may take a few minutes.

  3. Step 3
     

    Click "Backup!" in order to save the disc onto your computer. Make sure that "ISO Image File" is highlighted and that you choose a memorable location for the file. Once you click "OK" this process will take around 30 minutes.

  4. Step 4

    Close DVD Shrink and eject the DVD from your disc drive. Put in a new blank DVD disc and start up your Nero software.

  5. Step 5
     

    Choose "Rip and Burn" from the top of the screen and choose the "Burn Data Disc" option. This will start a new version of Nero that deals with the burning of data discs.

  6. Step 6
     

    Choose "Image, Project, Copy" from the left-hand menu, and then choose "Disc Image or Saved Project." Find the ISO file that you created in DVD Shrink and click "Open."

  7. Step 7
     

    Make sure that your DVD burner is highlighted in the "current recorder" option, and that DVD is selected under "disc type." Click "Burn."

  8. Step 8

    Wait for Nero to finish the burning process. Once it's done, it will eject the disc automatically. Now you have a perfect copy of your original DVD.

Tips & Warnings
  • Burning and reading speed differs based on the make and model of your DVD burner.
  • Since burning copyrighted DVDs is illegal, stick with your own home movie DVDs.
