How to Use Copper Pressure Fittings

Using pressure fittings will eliminate the need for soldering pipes. This comes in handy when you do not want to deal with the flame and dangers of soldering the traditional way. The seal is just as good as a traditional solder, but using a pressure fitting is faster and easier.

Things You'll Need

• Wrench Pipe tape

Instructions

1. Slide the cap onto your pipe.

2. Slide the copper ring onto your pipe, under the cap. This ring will be snug on the pipe. Screw on the connector tightly; this will compress to a water-tight seal. Do this for both sides.

3. Put pipe tape onto the threads.

4. Screw down the cap tightly to join the pipes.

5. Test for leaks.
