How to Burn Movies onto a CD

Burning movies is a great way of moving video files from your PC to a CD so they can be played on DVD players. Although DVDs hold more information, using CDs instead is far cheaper. Most burning programs allow you to make a video CD, also known as a VCD.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert your blank CD into the CD drive. CD-Rs are better to use than CD-RWs, because they are compatible with more devices.

    • 2

Open your burning software. Nero is one of the more popular programs, but there are various other options, such as Blaze Media Pro.

    • 3

Select "Make VCD" from the video-burning options. (The exact wording of the option may differ between the programs.)

    • 4

Open the folder that contains the video you want to burn and select it. CDs only hold about 700 MB of data, so make sure your video is the right size. Once the file has been selected, it will be added to a list.

    • 5

      Press the "Burn" button.
