Ringtones have become a popular accessory for cell phones. A phone's ringtone can be completely personalized to reflect the phone's owner and can be customized for a particular caller or contact. Using Phonezoo is one of the easiest ways to create a free ringtone. The website works with any audio file you wish to use, provides a convenient editor to customize your song, and allows you to download and access your ringtone via text message. Here is how you can quickly create and download ringtones via text message with Phonezoo.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Audio file to use as a ringtone
  1. Step 1

Go to Phonezoo.com and click "Sign Up" on the upper right corner of the website. To create your account, you will need to enter a username and password, email address, and country. Click "Register."

  2. Step 2

Enter your cell phone carrier, your phone number and your mobile phone's manufacturer and model. Click the "Done" button.

  3. Step 3

Click "Verify Phone" on the next page. Phonezoo will send your phone a text message with a verification code. Enter the code into the verification field on Phonezoo's website and click "Submit verification code."

  4. Step 4

Select the "Ringtones" tab on the main navigation menu. Choose "Create from file." Click "Browse" and navigate to the audio file you want to use as your ringtone. Click "OK" and then click "Upload."

  5. Step 5

Edit your ringtone. Once Phonezoo has completed uploading and processing your music file, use the ringtone editor to set a start time for your file, and also add fade in or fade out effects. Your ringtone can only be 30 seconds long. Once you have completed editing, click "Save and Send to Phone."

  6. Step 6

Phonezoo sends you a text message with instructions on how to download your free ringtone to your phone.

Tips & Warnings
  • Phonezoo does not work with DRM (Digital Rights Management) protected music files. Music files from iTunes or other digital download outlets support DRM and so their files cannot be used as ringtones.
