Dents from hail can be an aesthetic nightmare. It can alter a smooth surface and appear to be a costly fix. There are several proven methods to removing hail dents that don't involve a trip to the body shop or the bill that comes with it.

      Place a piece of aluminum foil over the dent and hold a lighter to it for 30 seconds to heat the area. Remove the foil and spray the area with a can of compressed air held upside down so that liquid co2 comes out. Allow the dent up to a minute to pop out on its own. Repeat if necessary. Wipe the area clean with a soft clean cloth.

      Place a plunger over the dent and apply pressure until there is suction. Slowly pull the handle and pop the dent out.

      Hold a hair dryer to the dent for 30 seconds to a minute to make the area hot. Place dry ice in the middle of the dent and hold it there for five 10 seconds. Remove the ice and wait up to a minute for the dent to fix itself. Repeat if necessary.

      Allow the car to sit in direct sunlight until it is hot to the touch. Place a cold damp cloth on the dent and wait for it to pop out.
