Instructions

    • 1

Drill pilot holes for a screw on the top and bottom of the 1-by-2 for the wall attachment, as well as one in the center for your tool hanger. Sand your 1-by-2 until completely smooth.

    • 2

Apply your stain. Let it dry and make sure that you have a good penetrating finish.

    • 3

Screw the tool hanger directly into the center of one side of the 1-by-2.

    • 4

Fasten the hanger to the wall using the drill and screws, making sure to fasten to a stud for support.

    • 5

Hang up your guitar on your new wall hanger.

Tips & Warnings

  • Drilling pilot holes is a good idea for almost any wood project. This is done to keep the wood from splitting. A tape measure can also be used to find a stud. This is done by measuring 16 inches down the wall from the corner of the room to locate a stud. Each stud should be in 16-inch distances.

  • Hit a stud before hanging your guitar to make sure that when you do hang it, it stays there.
