How to Make a Guitar Hanger
Jazz up the music you play and your studio with a homemade guitar hanger. It's not difficult to make and costs less than $15 dollars.
Things You'll Need
- 4 inches of stain-grade 1-by-2 wood Two 2-inch Sheetrock or deck screws Tool Hanger Super Hook (available at most hardware retailers) Drill Screwdriver bit for drill Drill bits Stain Fine grit sandpaper Stud finder Paper towels

Drill pilot holes for a screw on the top and bottom of the 1-by-2 for the wall attachment, as well as one in the center for your tool hanger. Sand your 1-by-2 until completely smooth.

Apply your stain. Let it dry and make sure that you have a good penetrating finish.

Screw the tool hanger directly into the center of one side of the 1-by-2.

Fasten the hanger to the wall using the drill and screws, making sure to fasten to a stud for support.

Hang up your guitar on your new wall hanger.

Tips & Warnings
Drilling pilot holes is a good idea for almost any wood project. This is done to keep the wood from splitting. A tape measure can also be used to find a stud. This is done by measuring 16 inches down the wall from the corner of the room to locate a stud. Each stud should be in 16-inch distances.
Hit a stud before hanging your guitar to make sure that when you do hang it, it stays there.
