The harmonic minor scale can be found in pieces that cover a wide range of musical styles, including classical, jazz, rock, pop and funk. Guitarists in particular have favored this scale when soloing over minor chords. Players such as Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai and Randy Rhoads have all used the harmonic minor scale on some of their most famous recordings.
