How to Make a Silicone Chocolate Candy Mold

Silicone chocolate candy molds are used for making creative chocolates to top cakes, pies or to just enjoy. Creating chocolate candy molds is an easy process, especially when using a silicone putty to create the mold. Silicone putty is a two-part compound. When the two compounds are mixed, you can form creative molds. You can create any item, from your favorite brooch to that shell you found on the beach. Follow these simple steps to create your own chocolate silicone mold.

  • Two-part silicone mold putty Item to mold

    Create a Silicone Mold

  1. Step 1

    Remove a piece of putty from each of the two containers in the two-part silicone mold putty box. The amount of putty you will needs depends on the size of mold you are creating. For a small mold, typically used for chocolate, remove a pea sized piece of putty from each container.

  2. Step 2

    Blend the two pieces of putty together. The two different colored pieces should be blended to make one solid color.

  3. Step 3

    Cover the item from which want to create a mold with the blended putty. Spread the putty completely over the item, leaving one side without putty. The uncovered side is the side in which you will pour the melted chocolate when you use the mold.

  4. Step 4

    Cure silicone putty. The curing method is simply allowing the putty to set on the object and stiffen. Each box of putty has a time frame for curing. This time ranges from 35 to 45 minutes and completes the process.

  • Make sure that you are using a food-safe putty.
