Above-ground pools offer an excellent value in family recreation and fun. But over time the vinyl liners that they use are susceptible to damage, particularly small nicks and tears. Repaired promptly, this damage doesn't have to interfere with your enjoyment of the pool. Best of all, the repairs can be done even when there's still water in the pool. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the size of the spot that needs repaired.

    • 2

Cut the vinyl patch material in your pool repair kit (see Additional Resources, below, for several kits) to a size that will cover the tear or hole. It's best to ensure extra space around the tear. Make sure the patch is at least 1-inch larger in all dimensions than the damaged area.

    • 3

Apply the glue that came with the patch kit on the area to the damaged area and to the underside of the patch. Hold the patch in place onto the damaged area for several minutes to ensure a good seal.

    • 4

Stay out of contact with the patch for several hours to allow the glue to cure properly.
