Honeywell Humidifier Installation

Humidifiers add humidity to a home's dry indoor air, especially during the winter when the humidity level indoors is lower than the desert. Honeywell humidifiers come in a variety of different shapes and sizes, giving you lots of ideal choices for your home. Some humidifiers are portable and sit in the corner of a room, but some require installation. Humidifiers provide relief for dry skin, and also prevent your home's woodwork from drying out and cracking. Honeywell humidifiers make the indoor air more comfortable, so you can turn down your thermostat.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate an area on a supply duct that is near a drain outlet, so that the steam hose has a continuous down slope into the drain. Also, make sure there is a cold water supply line and an electrical outlet nearby.

    • 2

Plumb the in-line sediment filter, which is provided with the Honeywell humidifier, for hard water applications. You do not need compression fittings.

    • 3

Apply the self-adhesive mounting template to the supply duct. Use a hole saw to drill out a hole in the duct 1 3/4-inch in diameter.

    • 4

Attach the mounting bracket to the duct making sure the hole in the bracket lines up with the hole in the duct. Connect the bracket with No. 8 screws and a screw gun in all four corners.

    • 5

Remove the cover on the steam injection nozzle and connect it to the patented condensate collection dome. Insert the nozzle and twist clockwise to properly seat the gasket seal. Slide the foam gasket over the injection nozzle.

    • 6

Hang the Honeywell humidifier on the bracket location. Push down on the machine to properly secure it. Plug it in.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use the leveling line on the installation template, and a level, to insure that your humidifier is installed level.

  • The water that drains from the Honeywell humidifier might be hot to the touch. It is advisable to make sure the hose goes directly into the drain to prevent spillage.
