Making a card for teacher

Make a personalized birthday card for your favorite teacher on a computer. There are several ways to make a printable card using programs you already have or ones that are offered free on the Web. After the card is printed, you can write a personalized message inside.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paper White colored pencil Color ink Printer Scissors
  1. Step 1

Design a printable birthday card using a free online website like 123certificates or Dltk-cards. (See Resources below). After choosing an appropriate design, add the teacher's name and fill in the text field with a special message. Spellcheck the message and then when you are satisfied with the card's design and message, print it.

  2. Step 2

You also can create a birthday card with a word processing program or drawing program. Use any shape creator to design the card. Circles and ovals can serve as balloons. Squares and rectangles can be desks or chalkboards. Combine different shapes to create the appearance of students or a teacher.
Add a text box to the design and write "Happy Birthday" inside. Change the font, size and color to jazz it up, and then print it.

  3. Step 3

Find some clip art and make a collage to print for the card. Add this clip art to the card you made in Step 2, or make the card using clip art, words and letters from the Web. Find educational clip art at Teacherfiles. (See Resources below). You can also use clip art available on your computer.

  4. Step 4

Write a message inside the card using a colored pencil or a crayon. A hand-written message adds a personal touch. Write "Thank you for _____" and fill in the blank with something nice the teacher has done this year. Or, "Happy Birthday to the smartest/funniest/best-dressed teacher in school." Sign your name.

  5. Step 5

Tuck a recent picture of yourself inside the card. The teacher will then have a keepsake for the school year. Remember to include the year on the back of the card.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use bright colors to make the card cheery.
  • Do not include the age of the teacher on the card, and never guess the teacher's age.
