Some antivirus programs or packages cause serious performance issues on your computer, or they don't perform the primary task of protecting your computer totally from viruses. If you don't intend to renew McAfee Virus Scan at the time of renewal or to install a free antivirus package for a short period, then it is recommended to remove McAfee Virus Scan from your computer. Removing McAfee Virus Scan involves a few steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Click the "Start Menu" button located on the bottom left of the task bar on your computer.

  2. Step 2

Scroll to "Control Panel" and click on it.

  3. Step 3

Click on the "Uninstall a Program" link under Programs from the list of controls menus or features displayed on the Control Panel window. Depending on your computer, this link may also say "Add or Remove Programs".

  4. Step 4
