How to Fix a Rattling Washer

      Lay the level flat on the top left-hand side of the washing machine and observe the bubble indicator. Lift the level slowly until the bubble is centered; this will show you how much to raise or lower the left-hand washer feet. Check the right side in the same manner.

      Tip the washer 45 degrees to the left and use the pliers to turn the feet on the bottom of the machine. Turn the foot clockwise to lower it or counterclockwise to raise it, according to the amount shown by the level.

      Lower the washing machine and check its level again. If it is still off, adjust the feet accordingly. It may take three to five adjustments to level correctly, so be patient. When you've finished leveling, the washer will no longer rattle every time you turn it on.
