Lexmark Black Ink Cartridge

Lexmark is a major manufacturer of printers around the world. Lexmark makes laser and inkjet printers and also multifunction printers that copy, scan, fax and print. Like many modern printers, Lexmark models are relatively inexpensive but the ink is costly.

Instructions

    • 1

Power on the printer and open the hatch or lid covering the ink cartridges.

    • 2

Pull the old cartridge gently up and outward until it snaps loose. Send the old cartridge to Lexmark for recycling (see Resources).

    • 3

Remove the wrapping and the clear tape covering the copper contacts from the new cartridge. Be careful to avoid touching the contacts with your skin or clothing.

    • 4

Insert the cartridge into the cartridge container by pushing down and toward the printer until it snaps into place.

    • 5

Close the hatch or lid. If the printer or computer prompts you, clean and align your new cartridge by following the on-screen instructions. You can usually also find printer maintenance options by navigating to Control Panel > Printers > Right Click on the Lexmark model > Properties > Maintenance.
