Computer networking is connecting computers to allow them to share information between one another, and to access the Internet from a single web gateway. On a dialup Internet connection, one computer dials another remote computer to connect to the Internet, using a modem to interface with the remote computer. To share its Internet connection, the computer that dials up must be connected and configured to network with other computers.

  2. Step 2

  5. Step 5

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are using the Internet on multiple computers through a single dialup connection, the connection speed on each computer is likely to be slow. Networking can be fairly finicky depending on your computer's operating systems, Internet connection and hardware. If your network doesn't work, try re-running the network setup wizard on the main computer. Also consider contacting your dialup Internet service provider for networking support.
