How to Make a Disco Ball Chandelier

Disco balls bounces light off of it creating little patches all over the floor. They are a great way to get the party started and to have fun while dancing. Disco balls give you an illusion that you are moving in a different way than you really are.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Different sizes of Styrofoam balls yarn or string colored light bulbs glue gun hot glue gun sticks scissors box knife old CDs 2-by-4 inch piece of wood nail
  1. Step 1

    Cut your CDs into squares of various sizes. Anywhere from 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch works the best.

  2. Step 2

    Using a hot glue gun, glue the squares onto a Styrofoam ball, covering the entire ball.

  3. Step 3

    Place string or yarn through the ball so that you will be able to hang it.

  4. Step 4

    Repeat Step 2 until you have at least five disco balls made.

  5. Step 5

    Take a 2-by-4 inch piece of wood and saw it in half. Nail them together making an X. The full length of your wood will depend on how large you want your chandelier to be.

  6. Step 6

    String the disco balls onto the wood. Make sure they hang at different heights. If you have extra wood that is not being used, feel free to saw off the extra wood.

  7. Step 7

    Change your light bulbs for colored bulbs. This will allow you to have a variety of colors splash off of your disco ball. Now, you are ready for a dance.

Tips & Warnings
  • The more disco balls that you make, the larger the chandelier you can have.
