People love cookies. A perfect cookie is as enjoyable to bake as it is to eat. With a cookie press, sweet treats look like they came from a gourmet bakery. These instructions provide step-by-step details for making beautiful and delicious cookies with a Biscuits Cookie Press.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Biscuits Cookie Press Cookie dough (made according to cookie press instructions) Greased cookie sheet Wooden spoon Oven Oven mitts
  1. Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare the cookie dough and set aside (see Resources for recipe). Grease a cookie sheet evenly and place in the refrigerator to chill.

  2. Step 2

Turn the closing ring, which is at the bottom of the cookie press. Unscrew, using a counter-clockwise turn.

  3. Step 3

Lift the piston. Lifting the knob at the top of the device does this. You can also use your finger to guide the piston upward, making room for the dough.

  4. Step 4

Pack the cylinder completely with the dough. Use a wooden spoon to push the dough upward. This will ensure the cylinder is filled entirely, creating room for more dough.

  5. Step 5

Select the die-plate you want to use. Holding the closing ring in the palm of your hand, drop the selected die-plate into the closing ring with the raised side of the die-plate facing down. Return the closing ring to the cylinder by screwing it in a clockwise direction.

  6. Step 6

Turn the regulator to select the size of the cookie you want to make. The regulator is the small disk just below the lever. Select "1" if you would like smaller cookies, or "2" if you want them larger.

  7. Step 7

Twist the knob, and lower the level slightly. The jack, which is the small rectangular piece on the bottom of the lever, should match up to the slots on the rod. Press down on the lever until the dough begins to come out of the die-plate equally. Dislodge the dough that came out, to ensure that the rest of the dough comes through smoothly.

  8. Step 8

Put the cookie press on a greased and chilled cookie sheet. The lever should be in the upright position to make the first cookie. Push the lever down completely. Then, raise the lever, move the machine about 1 inch, and make the next cookie. Repeat this process until all the dough is used.

  9. Step 9

Bake your cookies at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, checking regularly, as ovens vary. When the cookies are baked, use oven mitts and remove the cookie sheet. Allow the cookies to cool before removing them from the sheet.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not use dough that has ingredients that can not get through the different die-plates. You can decorate the cookies, once they've cooled, if you wish.
  • Before you use the cookie press for the first time, wash all of the parts in warm water and soap and dry it with a cloth. Do not wash your cookie press in the dishwasher. When you are finished using it, take apart the machine and wash in soap and warm water, then dry with a clean cloth.
