How to Uninstall Incredimail

IncrediMail is an email program that features a wide selection of downloadable graphics and themes. It is available for download both in a free and premium version. One of the problems associated with Incredimail is that when it is uninstalled it is not completely removed. This can create issues upon subsequent start-ups. It is necessary to manually remove Incredimail data from the user profile, the programs directory and the registry.

Instructions

1. Utilize the Add/Remove programs feature within the control panel of the windows operating system. Find the Incredimail program on the list, highlight it, and select to uninstall it.

2. Find the Incredimail data folder. This is where the Incredimail program stores data. The Incredimail data folder is located here:
   Documents and Settings\
   Username (your specific username)\
   Local Settings\
   Application Data\
   IM Folder
   The IM Folder contains every Incredimail email that was created while using the program. If desired, these emails can be retained by renaming the folder to a new name. Deletion will not be necessary if this is done.

3. Locate the Incredimail executables in this folder: c:\program files\Incredimail. This folder must be deleted.

4. Start the Registry Editor and locate each key that must be deleted. To delete, right click the specific registry key and delete.
   Locate the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MenuOrder\Start Menu\Programs\Incredimail key and delete it completely.
   Locate the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key and delete these keys:
   Software\Elishim\Protect\Browser
   Software\Microsoft\Direct3D\Most Recent Applications\
   Software\Classes\.imc
   \Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\Incredimail
   Software\Incredimail
   Software\Clients\Mail\Incredimail
   Locate the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT key and delete these keys:
   \.imw
   \.imi
   \.ims
   \.ima
   \.imn
   \.imf
   \Incredimessage
   \Applications\Incredimail
   \Applications\Impcontent.exe
   \Incredicontent

5. Close the Registry Editor.

Tips & Warnings

• Whenever any editing or modifications are made to the registry, it is very important to proceed slowly and carefully. Before making any changes, it is a good idea to back up the registry. This back-up copy can then be used in the event of problems occurring during or after the registry changes.
