If you want to duplicate the savory taste of KFC mashed potatoes, chefs the world over have spent countless hours trying to copy the recipe. While not identical in ingredients, many of these mock KFC mashed potato recipes have an uncanny likeness to the famous counterpart. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • Saucepan
  • 2-1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2-1/2 cups Idaho potato flakes

      Put your saucepan on the stove. Turn the burner on medium-high and add 2-1/2 cups water.

      Add 1/2 cup margarine and 2 tbsp. butter after the water begins to boil. Allow the water to boil until the margarine and butter have melted.

      Pour 1 tsp. salt into the pot and allow the contents to boil for an additional two minutes.

      Gradually stir potato flakes and milk into the pot of liquid ingredients. Continue to add more potatoes and milk until your mashed potatoes reach the desired consistency.
