Things You'll Need:
- Tile saw
- Grinder
- Tape measure
- Tile Trowel
- Tile glue
-
Step 1
• First, figure out how the tile will layout. This can be done by laying 3 tiles on the floor with the appropriate spacing left for grout and taking a measurement. From this measurement, lines can be marked on the wall that will signify the tiles spacing.
-
Step 2
• Once the lines are drawn, the tiles can be roughly laid out to be sure the lines were correct.
-
Step 3
• Tile can be laid directly onto drywall. The tile glue can be applied directly to the wall with a toothed trowel. However, I prefer to “butter” the back of each tile and then place it on the wall. When placing a tile on the wall press firmly until it is even with the others.
-
Step 4
• Place spacers between the tiles to be sure that they don’t slid once they are on the wall. These spacers can be purchased at any home improvement store. Little pieces of cardboard can also be used as a spacer.
-
Step 5
• When finished laying the tile make sure they are all in their original position (once dry they can’t be moved). Then let dry overnight.
-
Step 6

-
Step 7
• Grout all of the tile area at once. If the grout is sanded let dry for 30 minutes and wide away excess with cheesecloth. If the grout is unsanded or epoxy let dry until hazy and wipe away excess with a damp sponge.
-
Step 8
• Seal the tile with a recommended tile sealer if needed.
