3. To maximize your employability, keep your finger on the pulse of the economy to ensure that your degree will lead to a job opportunity that is in demand. Being aware of the job market will lead you to make smart career decisions.

4. When it comes to your job search, think of work outside of your degree or specialty. Be flexible and think of what you have gained from college as a skill set rather than a rigid, paved route inside your area of study that you are obligated to take.
