First : Force yourself to get out of house as sometimes just breaking routine and going to the mall or other such place will be enough to take your mind out of your depression and defeat the bout.

Secondly: Do vigorous exercise as exercise releases endorphins which can naturally alter your mood and succeed in defeating your bout with depression.

Third: You can also try talking to a friend as sometimes just having a person to talk to is enough to defeat depression by getting your thoughts and feelings out in the open and hopefully obtaining some good advice on the situations that have you down in the process.
