If you do reinstall Windows XP, then you'll need to re-activate it too. To lessen the hassle of mistrigous pop up to activate the windows XP version.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A Pen drive for convenience.
  • Windows XP Cd.
  1. Step 1

    Before you do a install of windows XP, Click start click "run" then type "C:\WINDOWS\System32\" (Without Quotes) then Copy the file named " WPA.DBL " to the pen drive attached.

  2. Step 2

    Continue with the Installation of Windows XP, when the prompt of activation comes decline to activate and continue to finish the install.

  3. Step 3

    Restart the computer in safe mode i;e when the computer is Booting up keep hitting the F8 button on the keyboard untill you reach the Windows Advanced Startup Menu. Select using the arrow keys on your keyboard to highlight " Safe Mode ", then hit Enter.

  4. Step 4

    Click start click "run" then type "C:\WINDOWS\System32\" (Without Quotes) then rename the file " wpa.dbl " to " wpa.old "for better usage. Then Copy the same " Wpa.dbl " file from the pendrive there. Restart and Keep going.

Tips & Warnings
  • Have the pen drive or Cd attached / in till the whole procedure is attached.
  • You can also use a Cd too.
  • To Copy a particular file right click the file and click Copy.
  • To locate the Pen drive or the Cd, Click start click My Computer ,You will see the device.
  • Follow as it is.
