How to Sell Cosmetics and Makeup On Ebay

You love makeup and cosmetics, but do you know how to sell it? Starting an ebay cosmetics business is a great way to do something you love and earn some extra money.

Instructions

1. First try out listing and selling on ebay. Sell cosmetics you can purchase at the store for a good price or try selling household items. Always use a photo and a good descriptive listing. Most often your picture and feed back sell your items.

2. Wholesale sources. Seek out wholesale sources. Ebay can be one source to pick up wholesale lots. But know what you are buying and do your research before you sell. Sometimes you buy a lot and end up with a lot of sample size, old products or unsellable items. Be sure the lot has a detailed manifest or list of the products you will get.

   Google websites for wholesale sources. Go to trade shows to acquire suppliers. You may want to get a retail license in your state. My state only requires me to charge sales tax on sales in my state, so the license is worth it for attending trade shows.

   Seek out other sellers that may have email lists. Some of my suppliers get limited shipments that sell out fast. See some of my resources below to get makeup in bulk.

3. Use an ebay listing service like auctiva or inkfrog. These services can save you tons of money and allow you to post more pictures and schedule listings when the most popular times for your auctions. These also have great templates to use on your auctions to jazz them up.

4. Shipping. Get free priority mail shipping supplies from the post office or use padded mailers from Sam's Club or an office supply store. Buy them in bulk to save you money on shipping costs.

5. Use sale days on ebay to your advantage. List as much as you can on those days to save fees and make more money.

6. Sign up for Ebay selling manager. This service is worth the $5 a month after you have been selling for awhile. It includes an accounting manager to download your sales to quickbooks or excel to help with your taxes.
