Spiced wine party punch is the perfect punch for those hosts who would like to serve something a little different with a kick. The lengthy ingredient list may be daunting but believe me, you will not regret the grocery store visit. This spiced wine rocks! Your guests will be asking you, pleasantly, for the receipe. The trick is to keep and serve this spicy concoction warm.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 quart of red wine
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 cup of rum or brandy
  • 1 vanilla bean cut in half lengthwise
  • 10 cardamom pods
  • 5 whole cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 teaspoon of whole allspice
  • 1 teaspoon of grated lemon rind
  • sugar to taste
  • 2 teaspoon of orange zest
  1. Step 1

Place all of your ingredients: red wine, rum or brandy, water, vanilla bean, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon stick, whole allspice, orange zest, lemon rind, and sugar in a sauce pan. Simmer liquid slowly for about 15 minutes. Enjoy the spicy scent of the cardamom and cinnamon.

  2. Step 2

Strain your luscious liquid. You do not want rind, zest or sticks in your final product. You could keep these remnants for a great potpourri later.

  3. Step 3

You will serve your spiced wine warm. Keep the spiced wine punch warm during parties or get-togethers.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not drink and drive.
  • Recipe intended for those at least 21 years old.
