How to Become a Better Baseball Hitter
You've probably heard the saying, "keep on swinging," which refers to not giving up on a goal. When you want to become a better baseball hitter, you need to practice skills other than your swing. It looks like batting should be easy, but that's deceiving. Many variables can cause a batter to get distracted, resulting in strikes when batting. The key is to know what to do and consistently practice and repeat those actions.

1
Swing your bat in a circular motion several times every day to help strengthen your arm muscles and help your hits fly further when you bat.
-
2
Stand over the plate when batting; center your body over the plate instead of to the side of the plate. You should be over half of the plate yourself. Practice this correct standing habit during practice as well as during games.

3
Swing the bat up toward the ball when batting. Hitting the ball flat against the back side will normally result in a ground hit. Hitting from a lower angle than directly behind the ball will help force the ball higher into the air and further out into the diamond.
-
4
Ignore intimidating actions by the pitcher and catcher when you are batting. Facial expressions and trash talk are often used in baseball to intimidate the opponent when he's batting. Ignore those distractions to successfully hit a pitch.
-
5
Keep your eye on the ball when batting. Don't move your focus watching the bat as it comes forward; just keep your eye on the ball as the pitcher throws it and the entire time it is moving toward and over the base.
-
6
Practice regularly to improving your baseball hitting skills. Repeat the proper batting techniques several times during each practice. When you have successes during practice, continue to swing and repeat the techniques.
