Make Simple Salsa

You've been to Chipotle or Qdoba and love the fresh salsa. Simple ingredients and extraordinary taste. The recipe is simple, easy, and cheap. I hope this article inspires you to produce your own version and enjoy a healthy snack or meal.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Salt
  • Tomatoes
  • Cilantro
  • White Onion
  • Purple Onion
  • Lime
  1. Step 1

Chop three large tomatoes into tiny pieces. Try to pick tomatoes that are firmer, but any variety will do.

  2. Step 2

Chop 1/2 of a onion. It does not matter whether its a white or purple onion, but the onion is what helps vary the taste of the salsa. My preference is for the purple onion, which is used at Qdoba.

  3. Step 3

Chop 1 bunch of Cilantro. Try to avoid the stems, but do not go overboard. Good rule of thumb is to trim the top of a bunch and throw the longer stems away.

  4. Step 4

Mix all three ingredients in a bowl. Mix a fair amount of kosher salt into the bowl according to taste. Next squeeze 1/2 to 1 lime into the bowl. The salt and lime add flavor, as well as, preserve the salsa.

Tips & Warnings
  • The bowl should look even with the colors green, red, and white.
  • If you like a bit of hot just add some jalapeno to the mix.
